Excess fat accumulation and cancer
The various ill effects of obesity are well known worldwide and the fact that being overweight increases a person’s chance of contracting deadly diseases like heart ailments, diabetes etc have established the belief that obesity is an evil which has to be eradicated and the only means of doing so is by means of weight loss. Among the various life threatening diseases that affect the human body, one of the most common in recent times is obviously cancer and in course of time studies have revealed that increased body weight has a role to play in cancer. Researchers point out that increased body weight especially as a result of excessive fat deposition multiplies the chances of having cancer. This is a startling revelation because despite continuous experiments, no cure is available for cancer yet. Therefore excessive body fat is capable of causing prostate cancer in men and cancers of the uterus and breast in women.
There are various factors which contribute to the deposition of excess fat in different parts of the body. The very significant first reason would be unhealthy food habits and consumption of junk foods like soft drinks, pizzas and sweets greatly contribute to the increase of the lipid deposition in the human body. Maintaining a strict exercise regimen is often beneficial in these cases, but in the hustle and bustle of modern life, majority of human beings are unable to make out time for it. The fat deposition is excess in certain specific parts of the body like near the abdomen region, arms, thighs, neck and arms, under the skin. These fat layers which begin to accumulate under the skin are responsible for allowing the expansion of the carcinogen cells which are the root causes behind cancer.
Therefore, it just goes to show how deadly the effects of abnormal weight gain lead to and it is even more lethal in case of cancer since no preventives or cure options are available yet for cancer. Therefore the only way out in these cases is to lose weight considerably and it can be effectively done by exercising regularly and follow a constant fitness program. Jogging is very effective in such cases and so are long brisk walks and exercising regimens like aerobics and yoga are also beneficial. It is also advised to increase the consumption of nutritious foods fresh vegetables and fruits along with antioxidants which are evidenced to be successful in warding off cancer.
